What is LCL?
Different types of containers are used for the transportation of sea goods. Less container Load is a term used in the shipping industry to describe smaller shipments that are consolidated into one container. This is done in order to reduce the cost of transportation, as well as to reduce the amount of waste associated with shipping.
For example, if you are transporting vegetables from a farm to a supermarket and don’t have enough produce to fill an entire container, you could use less container load shipping. This would allow you to ship less goods at a time and save money on shipping costs.
LCL Advantages
In many cases, the cost of shipping is cheaper when you ship by less container load than full container load. However, if you need to ship items that are particularly large or heavy, then it may not be worth your time to try to fit them into a 20-foot container. In this case, you can ship using LCL with a larger container.
